Join ISSA Consulting & Coaching for Personality in the Park, a special fall in-person MBTI experience taking place on September 18 at Lorimer Park in Huntingdon Valley, PA.

This relaxed outdoor workshop will be held in the pavilion at Lorimer Park, giving participants an easy-to-find, covered gathering space while still enjoying the casual atmosphere of the park.

The workshop is designed to help participants better understand personality type and how it influences communication, decision-making, relationships, teamwork, and everyday interactions.

Participants will explore the four MBTI preference pairs, identify their own personality preferences, and learn how different types approach information, decisions, structure, communication, and connection. The session combines guided instruction, practical examples, group discussion, and interactive activities in an informal park setting designed to encourage learning, conversation, and connection.

When Empathy Loses Its Boundaries: The EQ Problem Behind “Suicidal Empathy”

Blog Post 8-17-26 - Live at 7pm ET

One of the hardest lessons for people with strong empathy is learning that good intentions do not guarantee good outcomes.

A parent may constantly rescue an adult child from consequences and call it love. But if that rescue prevents maturity, responsibility, and independence, the love becomes enabling.

A leader may tolerate a destructive employee because they know the person is struggling. But if the rest of the team becomes demoralized, ignored, or mistreated, empathy for one person becomes unfairness to many.

A community may avoid enforcing standards because enforcement feels uncomfortable. But if disorder grows, trust erodes. The most vulnerable people often suffer first.

A society may open its arms in compassion but fail to clearly communicate shared expectations, civic responsibility, legal boundaries, and mutual respect. Over time, that lack of clarity can create resentment on all sides.

This is why empathy must be paired with discernment.

Discernment asks:

“What is truly needed here?”

“Who is being helped?”

“Who may be harmed?”

“What are the long-term consequences?”

“Am I acting from wisdom or guilt?”

“Am I helping because it is right, or because I am afraid of being judged?”

These are difficult questions, but emotionally mature people are willing to ask them.
